Slight change to the plan. I began this blog/FB post to keep me accountable to my 1/2 marathon goals. My 1/2 marathon is not until October so I've abandoned those goals for now and have taken up training for the next race instead. The MUD HERO! It dawned on me early this morning that while I've been so focused on training for the 1/2 I have literally let the MUD HERO race sneak up on me. I have calculated that if I were to start a training plan specific to obstacle races, I'd already be on day 13 with my graduation day being July 9th (MUD HERO DAY). OH SNAP!
Todays workout was planned as an after work run but after a botched dinner date, I decided to go ahead and do it at lunch. Gah! Treadmill again! I convinced myself it wouldn't be total death because it was only 2 miles, vice 3.
Today's MUD HERO Day 13 plan.
Warm up jog 5 minutes
Very slow 2 mile jog (treadmill death)
30 seconds of each followed by 10 seconds rest. Completed 2 rounds.
Straight Leg Reverse Crunches
Wide Leg Sit-ups
Medicine Ball Twists
phew! That was rough! I'm seriously wondering why on earth I would ever decide to sign up for a race I am not nearly ready for. Well, even if I fail, I'll be better off trying then not setting a goal for myself and then just adding another spare tire to the one I already have.
I can't say it enough... roll today, for a better run tomorrow. (it's really hard to take pics of yourself while rolling on a foam roller.. I did my best, it's as good as it gets!)
